beating the heat

It was hard to believe it was in the 90's yesterday. It seemed like 100 degrees at the street fair. Brayden got to cool off in his new float and swim diaper from the magical child. Another sad attempt at trying to use cloth ( or in this case nylon ) diapers. Uncle Jason had the very same float at his age ( 20 years ago...yikes). I remember when my parents had the pool installed, being so excited to take who was then baby Jason in the spa for the first time in his yellow floatie. Time flies.

Brayden at Sea World with friends Lily, Evan and Roman on his 5th month birthday. So fun!

This week we also invested in a new camera. We bought the Nikon d40 and love it. The shutter speed is super fast and can do lots of fun tricks that we will probably never figure out. With a wiggly baby you usually only have a nano second to try and capture the moment. We have had lots of fun trying it out.

Speedy racer.

It has been awhile since our last update. Over the course of these past two weeks we have been passing this nasty cold back and forth to each other. We are finally over the hump and feeling great.
Since we have been out of commission for a couple of weeks, our last exciting family event was the Carlsbad 5000. Was it our fastest race ever ran? no.... Let's just say our time was over 30 minutes but under 32. I will blame Brayden and his heavy stroller for the slowness. As you can see he was unaffected if not bored at the event. That's ok. Next year they have a diaper derby and he will most definitely not be allowed to sleep through that one. Especially since free diapers for a year are at up for grabs.

Grandma's are cool

Brayden got to spend last week with Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Mark. They came to visit from North Carolina for Tony's 35th...yes 35th birthday. We did lots of fun things and enjoyed having them visit.

Having a quick massage!

Tony blowing out all 35 if his candles! ( a Grandma Judy tradition)

A fun family photo.

Anything but quickbooks

I have sat down at the computer to install and learn quickbooks. We have owned the program for over a month and it still not made it's way out of the package. Every time I attempt to open the package, I get distracted. Our Cpa "strongly encouraged" us to use the program for our retail business. So I find myself yet again procrastinating. Here is a photo of our little endeavor inside leaping lotus. Maybe tomorrow.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter- We hope everyone had a nice Easter. We had a fun day at Aunt Donna's hunting for Easter egg's and playing games. Grandma was the winner of the hunt finding the most eggs. I was the winner of the Easter jigsaw puzzle race. It was quite a victorious day for the Jacks/ Wegrowski team.

First Easter basket. The baskets turned out better that I thought. Basket party next year for sure!!

Saturday was Evan Hayden's super fun 80's first birthday.
Complete with koosh ball favors, Zima and array of Bop and Teen magazines preserved by Erin's mom. I can't believe we used to read those things and that it is now considered nostalgia.

Birthday boy Evan had his very own " You can't touch this" t-shirt and jelly belt. My hair was bigger, but quickly deflated and Brayden transferred into jammies after he barfed on his 80's polo outfit. I can't say that I blame him. Tony ( not pictured) got off easy with vintage Rip Curl.

Bunny fun

It has been some time since our last post. We have been having fun getting ready for Easter. Tony is not a fan of the bunny ears. I had to get my photos in while I could. I had planned on having a girl party making easter baskets. After many attempts, I was not happy with the results. Maybe next year girls. Instead, I made some mini stuffy bunnies. See picture below of Brayden prior to tipping over. I thought they turned out cute.

Sorry dad- I could not resist. Now the ears have mysteriously disappeared.

Beacons

s
Brayden does not know how fortunate he is to live so close to the beach. Now that the sun sets later in the evening, we are taking as many walks to watch the sunset as we can. We can't wait for the weather to warm up to bring him down to Beacons.

Here is a photo of his little group of friends whose moms try and get together on Friday morning to enjoy coffee and a walk to the beach. Brayden wants to keep up with the big babies and face forward. He tried for the photo but he is still bound by the car seat for a few more weeks.
