Blue...

Here are my guys playing in the fountain after watering the plants. Both wear blue very well.

This strange diaper looking thing is the end result of my shopping cart cover project from the "Sewing for Dummies" pattern. Maja's blog was very inspiration in crafting something everyday. My goal was to finish this on or before Sunday. I have yet to try it out in a restaurant high chair or shopping cart.

Thanks Agatha for the fun idea of color week and motivating me to post more!!!

Pink Day

Once again I am having to play catch up. It was very challenging finding Pink in living with 2 boys. Not only do I lack pink in my wardrobe. I also lack pink in my fabric stash, bead collection, leaping lotus inventory and nailpolish. I had to go deep to find photos with pink. Here is what I came up with. This Care Bear!! Cheer Bear was a gift from my dad when Brayden was born. Santa gave me a Cheer Bear one year when I was 7 or 8. Good memory dad! Brayden & I are buried somewhere in that hospital bed.

white & orange day.

For some reason I had it in my head that Day 4 was yellow day. I knew I would not be able to post today because I had to work late . I had great visions of having lots of images of yellow and white. Images include our ugly scary 70's tile in our bathroom. I think everyone has seen or lived in a place that has had ugly scary yellow and white 4x4 tile. No need for imagery. Another item was our surfboard we used as our guestbook for our Wedding. It is displayed proudly in our room on a really cool bamboo and Mahogany stand Tony made.

So now I will play by the rules....

Orange cones blocking off the lifeguard tower at the Pipeline Masters in North Shore Oahu

Below is a photo of a couple of gyotaku prints we sell at Leaping Lotus. I really like the orange one. Kupipi is the name, I am assuming named after the type of fish. I guess I must be the only one who likes it. We bought 2 and one is framed near our dining table and the other sits in our booth.

Here is a photo of Grandma in white. This is one of her newer old toys, a Victrola. Grandpa straight out hates it and makes her close the door when she winds it up to play music. Well, she has turned Brayden into a huge fan of the Victrola. I think he likes to watch her wind it up and look inside and see the record spin. He kicks his legs and grasps the sides and squeals until the song is over. Every time he goes in that room he squeaks and moans until she plays it. As it turns out the Victrola get used a lot. Multiple times a day. The Victrola is located in the scary " granny room" or guest room and is a place where Brayden gets his pants changed and takes naps. The granny room is also a place where all of her antiques are housed that she is not allowed to display. It is one scary overcrowded room. I think if Brayden was not so intrigued, the Victrola would mysteriously disappear while she was at work.

Brayden keeping warm with his new white soft fuzzy at Sea World today. Today we went to preview the Bay of Play, formerly known as Captain Kids World. It was not the best day to go weather wise but we still had fun.

Red

The rain forest jumpy. The red seat is of some critter- frog, bug, monkey. Not quite sure, Thank you Alison for the fabulous hand me down.

Farewell red couch.

The lovely red haleconia plant outside our place in North Shore where we like to stay.
It was harder to find photos with red and even harder to find red things around here. I've shed a lot of red. I've owned a couple of red cars, and worked for companies that have red in their logo...Target, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Rubi Supply Company, I even think Redsand had red in their logo when I was there.

Green - Day 2

Green patchwork pants with green John Deere socks from Grandpa Jacks. Tony is not a fan of these pants what so ever, I like them.

All three of the rugs in our house are primarily green. This rug is my favorite because I love the breadfruit pattern.

Tony's old surfboard. Deemed unridable by Tony, now has a happy home above the fireplace.

Groovy

Our new green couch on top of a green rug next to some greenery ( with some sun damaged leaves). There is nothing like a sectional. I don't think we can ever go back. We can seat like 10 people on that thing. Worth every penny!!!!

A tired baby wearing a handmade sweater next to his green loving mommy.

And last but not least, the green soothie. They are sprinkled all over our house. They turn up in under the bed, in dresser drawers, washed in many loads of laundry, nestled in between seat cushions, appearing in too many family photos. What can I say, he loves it.

2 posts in 1 day... special thanks to the color purple

2 posts in one day? The answer is a yes after accepting a bet from Agatha. A fan of games of any sort and gambling, I was left with little choice. Purple makes me thing of fluffy bridesmaid dresses and wet and wild make up.
Not a lot of purple in our life.

Crucial for morning coffee and really moist scones. Seems less sinful than the heavy cream called for in most recipes. Way too much mention of scones on the blog.

A purpleiscous fishy float. A treasure from my parents visit to the San Juan Islands.

And just like the book says... it is so easy to make your own baby food. Fun and messy family food fun.

A mini tent ready to hit the beach to shield fragile young skin from the sun.
Here is my latest attempt to use up the bolt...yes bolt of fabric I purchase shortly after Brayden was born. While I still love the fabric, I don't know quite what I was thinking purchasing such a large quantity of it. Especially since I own lots of other really cool fabrics in my "stash". If all goes well, the end result will be a cart/ highchair cover. We will see how complicated the " Sewing for Dummies" pattern is.

Sunday morning walk to the Pannikin for Scones and Coffee.

Watching Sesame Street!

A belated Mothers Day photo of my grandma, mom, Brayden and cousin Rachel. And a belated Happy Mothers day to all of the mom's.
